The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a little luck, Vejbystrand's 龙挺卫 got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but 龙挺卫 made a huge save.

Vejbystrand made a substitution. Harald Ennegren replaced Joachim Anselius. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Sílvio Luís Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harald Ennegren in the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of Mexico booed when Vejbystrand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Vejbystrand fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 龙挺卫 should have stopped the shot. 75 minutes into the match, Vejbystrand's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but 龙挺卫 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 龙挺卫 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 龙挺卫 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. Vejbystrand's David Rosendahl quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Macos Graciani, made in the 94th minute of the game. Mexico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
