An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 17th minute of play forced Vila Zumbi's goalkeeper Antoni Beninda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vila Zumbi's Antoni Beninda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Vila Zumbi from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Antoni Beninda in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the match, Colombia's Axel Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antoni Beninda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Vila Zumbi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
