The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip Bochinski got free with Marco Day in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nilmar Marinho went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Zach Harrison hit a great ball. Dani Hernández made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 23rd minute of play. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Cassius Byrne sped through Chivos de Punto Fijo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dani Hernández. In the 27th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Hernández saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Filip Bochinski sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th match minute, USA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Mcdonald to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 37th minute of play forced Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Dani Hernández to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match USA got a corner. Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led USA's Raphael Moore to fire away a dangerous shot which Dani Hernández despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 55th minute Honorio Cerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Honorio Cerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chivos de Punto Fijo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Gaston Botinos was substituted for Narciso Gombal. In the 63rd match minute, Chivos de Punto Fijo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto Tejeda to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Nilmar Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Nilmar Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dani Hernández showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Khalid Parry, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Chivos de Punto Fijo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. USA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
