After 37 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cláudio Maranhense was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Baldomiro Poncio fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponticella Stars's protests and gave Baldomiro Poncio a yellow card for diving instead. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Cláudio Maranhense made a huge save. Cláudio Maranhense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Cláudio Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute of the match. Edgar Sigfridsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
