Pancracio Paniagua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 26th minute of play. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clarke Brooks went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pancracio Paniagua. Pancracio Paniagua dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Peru's attentive Anthony Alvarado managed to snatch the ball when Léo Gonçalves made a throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game. Pancracio Paniagua stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gilson Cordeiro came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. POPULAR F.C were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gilson Cordeiro took the corner. After taking down the ball on POPULAR F.C's corner Gilson Cordeiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Clarke Brooks could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes in the game Léo Gonçalves did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Victorio Pabla. In the 47th minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Pancracio Paniagua. POPULAR F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clarke Brooks stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Peru's Milagros Fraga got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 54 played minutes POPULAR F.C got a freekick which was hit by Léo Gonçalves. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pancracio Paniagua read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of Peru booed when POPULAR F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attila Szepesvári didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pancracio Paniagua acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 62nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luz Tejedor. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pancracio Paniagua. Pancracio Paniagua dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. If Mei Xun Jun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorio Pabla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorio Pabla in the 75th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pancracio Paniagua read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, POPULAR F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Pancracio Paniagua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. POPULAR F.C's attentive Attila Szepesvári managed to snatch the ball when Alonso Berganza made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game. Pancracio Paniagua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 87th minute of play.
