In the 5th match minute, CENTAURO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Abella to maneuver through the defense. CENTAURO's Rogelio Tipi got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iker Abalos was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Abalos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of CENTAURO booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Cabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gualterio Jayvier. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Navarro during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivan Navarro hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. If Angel Abella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualterio Jayvier in the 29th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Gualterio Jayvier got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gualterio Jayvier got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes in the game Amadeo Abecia did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Eloy Mannuel. 35 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Iker Abalos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Honduras booed when CENTAURO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind CENTAURO's goalkeeper Iker Abalos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Evelio Sasoin made the kick off in the second half. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evelio Sasoin in the 87th minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Iker Abalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualterio Jayvier in the 94th minute of play. Ivan Navarro was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Honduras! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CENTAURO fans cheered their team off the field, for while Honduras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
