Kåge BF's Roland Backman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Sebastián Puig in the 12th minute of play. In the 18th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Backman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to a score. 1-0 in the 21st minute. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas King came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roland Backman in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Kåge BF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kåge BF's goalkeeper Roland Backman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Roland Backman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roland Backman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Kåge BF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roland Backman should have stopped the shot. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Roland Backman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars-Erik Wik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Roland Backman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute of play. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
