In the 18th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Japola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute Ospin Sánchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karahan Bilkan. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Zorita during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Wisła Kraków Old Boys getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Karahan Bilkan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Wisła Kraków Old Boys's Luis Fernández got a free kick in the 76th minute. If Ospin Sánchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ospin Sánchez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save.
