Paul Deery could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Brecc Bayes took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Dante Lacasa to make any attempt to save it. Severino Paião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Brecc Bayes came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Corey Keegan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Deery in the 84th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Séamus Morrison in the 85th minute of the match.
