The supporters of Nantwich booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Enrique Hanot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Reynaldo Estebe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enrique Hanot made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Nantwich support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
