Honorio Aztore took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Camilo Freixa. Bolivia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Lapurdi in the 21st minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Ferrant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niceto Virila having to interfere. A collision led to Nuevo Horizonte getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Feliberto Ramirez hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolivia's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Fontirroig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niceto Virila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 29 played minutes Nuevo Horizonte got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Gumaro. Mario Fernandino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Ferrant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Julio Chicote hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Baldomero Lapurdi made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Lapurdi in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Freixa saved Bolivia from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baldomero Lapurdi got free with Camilo Freixa in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 55 minutes into the game, Eduardo Fontirroig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bolivia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nuevo Horizonte the free kick. Eduardo Fontirroig hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Fontirroig in the 62nd minute of play forced Nuevo Horizonte's goalkeeper Niceto Virila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Benigno Chago in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bolivia's Julio Chicote. In the 71st minute, Feliberto Ramirez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Alfredo Ferrant made a precise shot to the right of Niceto Virila. Nuevo Horizonte's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Niceto Virila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Fontirroig in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baldomero Lapurdi got free with Camilo Freixa in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute, Alfonso de la Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute Eduardo Fontirroig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Virila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Nuevo Horizonte booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Baldomero Lapurdi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
