Gregorio Gagriel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Leopoldo Liberto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Boulogne del Ciclón's Daniel Moron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Moron having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Moron was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. 31 minutes into the game, Sandro Moreira threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
