Pål Sefastsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 30th minute of play. After 34 played minutes National Team Cape-Verde got a freekick which was hit by Roland Björklund. Chile's attentive Alan Tamayo managed to snatch the ball when Cris Montoia made a throw-in in the 36th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, National Team Cape-Verde's Leon Fasgar got a free kick in the 37th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pål Sefastsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After recieving a nice pass, Chile's Mariano Lacasa tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson. Pål Sefastsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Roland Björklund charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
