Baumar Ontanilla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 11th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Serbülent Baysan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan. Serbülent Baysan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victorino Peake. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Anderlecht Huachipato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis-Sven Piater didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Serbülent Baysan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Julio Cachero got a free kick in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the match, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Serbülent Baysan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute. Luis Andino made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan managed to reach the ball for a save. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th match minute, FC Anderlecht Huachipato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baumar Ontanilla to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serbülent Baysan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 43 minutes, Antonio Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the FC Anderlecht Huachipato players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Felix Montenegro scored to the left of an out of position Serbülent Baysan, making the score, 0-3. 66 minutes into the match, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's goalkeeper Serbülent Baysan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Serbülent Baysan came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 66th minute. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Serbülent Baysan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC Anderlecht Huachipato's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serbülent Baysan came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Serbülent Baysan made a huge save. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 91st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Serbülent Baysan could save by the left post. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Anderlecht Huachipato.
