Narciso Alceda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Zlatan Dimitriev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 22nd minute of the match. Zlatan Dimitriev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 27th minute of play forced Guaparo FC's goalkeeper Zlatan Dimitriev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zlatan Dimitriev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Guaparo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Zlatan Dimitriev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Narciso Alceda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Joel Gaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 55th minute of play forced Guaparo FC's goalkeeper Zlatan Dimitriev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 57 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Guaparo FC's Zlatan Dimitriev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Guaparo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Guaparo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casimiro Sayveon in the 61st minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Arenas, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Fernando Arenas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 95 minutes into the match, Guaparo FC's goalkeeper Zlatan Dimitriev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
