Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Florescu in the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. In the 40th minute Liviu Găvănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Minteuan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Florescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The audience was convinced that Liviu Găvănescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konstanty Joks in the 52nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Cristian Minteuan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Patricio Costa scored to the left of an out of position Cristian Minteuan, making the score, 2-1. PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
