Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. With his leg Jorginho Vaz managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jorginho Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of play. After 87 minutes Portuguesa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle went the supporters of Portuguesa were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
