In the 4th minute, Torrey Molloy reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dante Lacasa. The goal made the score 1-0. David Rios might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dante Lacasa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Rios ran back to his position shaking his head. Brujas KV's Inge Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes in the game, David Rios fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 21st minute of play forced Brujas KV's goalkeeper Inge Marin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Thorvald Egfjord fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brujas KV's protests and gave Thorvald Egfjord a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Brujas KV's Thorvald Egfjord got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Brujas KV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Inge Marin quite easily take care of the ball. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Torrey Molloy in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inge Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brujas KV's Inge Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, David Rios stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and David Rios tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óli Manfredi in the 56th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brujas KV's Inge Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 65th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Inge Marin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Inge Marin in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, Brujas KV's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Inge Marin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inge Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Inge Marin in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thorvald Egfjord in the 92nd minute of play. Inge Marin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 97th minute of play. The Brujas KV support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
