The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arif Gaffar Mazlum in the 5th minute of play. Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arif Gaffar Mazlum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Inácio Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Sedat Acemoğlu in the 21st minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Ahmet Sedat Acemoğlu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Romero in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Arif Gaffar Mazlum came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. 66 minutes into the match, Saray Spor's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Tolga Sezen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abraham Alguacil made a great header on Panama's corner, it was just that Saray Spor's Tolga Sezen managed to reach the ball for a save. After 93 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. After a rather tough play, Saray Spor's Inácio Romero got a free kick in the 94th minute. Tolga Sezen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 95th minute of the match.
