After some careless play in the Woopbongo defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valter Wallgren. The Woopbongo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valter Wallgren should have stopped the shot. After 14 played minutes Woopbongo got a freekick which was hit by Tim Månsson. Woopbongo's Mats Gerdberg suffered a sore thigh after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Woopbongo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. Woopbongo's Mecnun Mengüalp was substituted for Mats Gerdberg. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Ola Håkansson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 27th minute, Pär Rudqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ola Håkansson got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the game, Ola Håkansson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Ola Håkansson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. 34 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ola Håkansson came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ola Håkansson scored 3-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ola Håkansson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Ola Håkansson slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 40th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Woopbongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pär Rudqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pär Rudqvist fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Woopbongo's protests and gave Pär Rudqvist a yellow card for diving instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Valter Wallgren to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Mecnun Mengüalp fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Woopbongo's protests and gave Mecnun Mengüalp a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd match minute, Woopbongo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mecnun Mengüalp to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edgar Albohm was slow to take the kick. During this time Woopbongo's players had a chance to rest. Woopbongo's Edgar Albohm was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ola Håkansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 minutes, Ola Håkansson made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ola Håkansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. When Ola Håkansson came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Woopbongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ola Håkansson couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Woopbongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pär Rudqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Albohm in the 92nd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Woopbongo.
