With a left leg Valter Wallgren saved Woopbongo from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, Woopbongo's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Valter Wallgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Woopbongo defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valter Wallgren. The Woopbongo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valter Wallgren should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Valter Wallgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valter Wallgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Ola Håkansson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 34thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Woopbongo's Valter Wallgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ola Håkansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Woopbongo's Valter Wallgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valter Wallgren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Ola Håkansson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 2-3 in the 44 minute of play.

When Ola Håkansson came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Woopbongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ola Håkansson couldn't finish the play. After 95 minutes, Ola Håkansson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woopbongo and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ola Håkansson kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
