Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gelu Dinescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augustin Vâlceanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
