Del Acuerdo's Silvano Ofelio got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jairo Rubio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Teofil Narbut's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stefan Kalak. Stefan Kalak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 29th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teofil Narbut in the 31st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Del Acuerdo's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stefan Kalak came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stefan Kalak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Sebastian Daunte struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Del Acuerdo. The supporters of Del Acuerdo booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a Del Acuerdo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Pepillo in the 96th minute of the match. 98 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stefan Kalak. Patricio Costa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
