After 13 played minutes Mount Oliver AFC got a freekick which was hit by Yépez Ilarraz. Peru's Joaquin Prats quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Yépez Ilarraz, made in the 16th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 18th minute of play forced Mount Oliver AFC's goalkeeper Ruperto Iraunkor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Efraim Gilabert challenged an opponent after 19 minutes. The hit was so bad that he suffered a foot injury. After 19 minutes, Mehdi Kaci Said mouthed his way into the referee's book. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Ronaldinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Mount Oliver AFC's Armando Di Pasquale got a free kick in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Mount Oliver AFC's goalkeeper Ruperto Iraunkor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruperto Iraunkor was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Mount Oliver AFC:s Ruperto Iraunkor showed great skill when he stopped Julian Murillo:s penalty. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
