Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Azzurri FC's Norman Herndon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 3rd minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 9th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Herndon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Augustus Metivier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Azzurri FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Augustus Metivier hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 13th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 16 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Norman Herndon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Norman Herndon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 23 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced Azzurri FC's goalkeeper Norman Herndon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Azzurri FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Norman Herndon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norman Herndon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 30th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Azzurri FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norman Herndon came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Norman Herndon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of the match. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Azzurri FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Norman Herndon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norman Herndon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. When Norris Fuentes fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Azzurri FC's protests and gave Norris Fuentes a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the Azzurri FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norman Herndon. The Azzurri FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norman Herndon should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hiram Compton was the one to do the kick off. Léon McManus kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Norman Herndon was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Norman Herndon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norman Herndon having to make a save. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Norman Herndon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. After 78 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Norman Herndon was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Hiram Compton in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 1-7 from a short distance just to the right of Norman Herndon. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Norman Herndon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Azzurri FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
