In the 12th minute, Pablo Lampard made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Doctor Strange stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Doctor Strange tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 18th minute of play forced Sport Clube Recife's goalkeeper Percy Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dong Yang Bang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doctor Strange in the 23rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 minutes of play, Sport Clube Recife's Pablo Lampard made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pablo Lampard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Dong Yang Bang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Clube Recife's supporters rose to their feet, but Dong Yang Bang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Doctor Strange to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Pablo Lampard made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doctor Strange in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Percy Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Doctor Strange put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Gualter Penha put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doctor Strange in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 79 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter Penha came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percy Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Dong Yang Bang took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sport Clube Recife's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
