The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Morales was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás Belmonte got free with Julio Vera in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bernabe Olivar kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pepe Sand in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Morales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Faustino Sayveon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pepe Sand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Morales came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pepe Sand was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Belmonte in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Artizar came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Morales made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Morales having to interfere. Pucará's Benedicto Caitano was substituted for Bernabe Olivar. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Basilio Bertran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Basilio Bertran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute, Dario Artizar made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 71 minutes into the match, Pucará's goalkeeper Lautaro Morales had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Pucará made a substitution. Gabriel Tulio replaced Faustino Sayveon. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dario Artizar's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Morales was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Daniel Zorita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 83 minute of play. In the 86thth minute of the game Franco Orozco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Pucará's Timoteo Martxot got a free kick in the 87th minute. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Lautaro Morales when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 88 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Lautaro Morales. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pucará throughout the match.
