Alan Tamayo hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 4 minutes into the match, El retorno del Pincha's Ernesto Tristezza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 4th minute, Ernesto Tristezza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by El retorno del Pincha's Maximino Lope. But to his dismay, Maximino Lope quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. El retorno del Pincha's André Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 18th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of André Zonta when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Thorsberg in the 28th minute of play. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind El retorno del Pincha's goalkeeper André Zonta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. El retorno del Pincha's André Zonta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save El retorno del Pincha from getting a goal against them. After 40 played minutes El retorno del Pincha got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Brasil. The crowd rose to their feet as Chile's Mariano Lacasa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of André Zonta. That made the score 1-2 after 42 minutes of play. In the 44th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Pozo to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. El retorno del Pincha's Maximino Lope got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61stth minute of the game Maximino Lope who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maximino Lope was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. El retorno del Pincha's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Thorsberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 67th minute of play forced El retorno del Pincha's goalkeeper André Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abelardo Abechuco struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Thiago Pliego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El retorno del Pincha. El retorno del Pincha's Christopher Birchall was substituted for Marcel Ternby. El retorno del Pincha's Armando Inautzi was substituted for Maximino Lope. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sven Thorsberg in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 81 minutes into the match, Chile's Orlando Casaus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that André Zonta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Armando Inautzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The Chile fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. El retorno del Pincha were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
