Zdzislaw Golob made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 3rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Frodo Moya could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zdzislaw Golob. Zdzislaw Golob dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Frodo Moya made a great header on Mazinger FC's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. After a defensive mix-up in Mazinger FC's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zdzislaw Golob came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Mazinger FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calvet Paredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zdzislaw Golob narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emil Boltașu. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Boltașu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 played minutes Mazinger FC got a freekick which was hit by Calvet Paredes. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Zdzislaw Golob didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Zdzislaw Golob made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 58th minute. Lisa Katt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 minutes of play, Mazinger FC's Ruud Dijken made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisa Katt in the 71st minute of play. With a little luck, Mazinger FC's Zdzislaw Golob got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frodo Moya in the 77th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mazinger FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Frodo Moya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zdzislaw Golob was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
