Yavuz Bülent Akbatu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 15th minute of the match. Cai Shi Feng who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Marco Day when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Monty Rogers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cassius Byrne came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cassius Byrne couldn't finish the play. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Mcdonald in the 38th minute of play forced Navigators's goalkeeper Yavuz Bülent Akbatu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Navigators made a substitution. Özbek Tokur replaced Derviş Erva. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. When Yu Ke Hui came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Navigators fans jumped to their feet. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. After 79 played minutes Navigators got a freekick which was hit by Zeynel Üke. If Khalid Parry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute Khalid Parry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yavuz Bülent Akbatu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
