Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes SITIO CITY got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre Gomes. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Lemos in the 27th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Rúben Neiva sent off a good shot on target. 30 minutes into the match, SITIO CITY's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Homero Sacramento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Homero Sacramento. SITIO CITY's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basílio Lemos to strike the kick off in the second half. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rúben Neiva in the 52nd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Lemos, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 69th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Homero Sacramento was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. When Silvestre Gomes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 74 minutes had been played. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 84 minutes, Maurício Brandão mouthed his way into the referee's book.
