Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Mustafa in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 5th minute of play forced C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's goalkeeper Alfredinho Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredinho Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Xian J.J. hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Sergio Mustafa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. After 23 played minutes C.U.E. DE COMERCIO got a freekick which was hit by Magne Söderberg. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play forced C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's goalkeeper Alfredinho Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sergio Mustafa struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.U.E. DE COMERCIO. When Sebastião Gentiletti fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's protests and gave Sebastião Gentiletti a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Peru booed when C.U.E. DE COMERCIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Gentiletti didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute of the match, Luz Tejedor sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Alfredinho Gerber showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Mustafa came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredinho Gerber made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. 71 minutes into the game, Marcos Senesi threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alfredinho Gerber was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Luz Tejedor capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luz Tejedor really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Nikola in the 76th minute of play. When Milagros Fraga came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milagros Fraga couldn't finish the play. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. The throw-in from Milagros Fraga in the 88th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's Seb Gentiletti. 89 minutes into the game, C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's Salvador Romano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. With an all-out effort, Peru's Alfredinho Gerber threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antonio Tenorio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The C.U.E. DE COMERCIO supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
