In the 17th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Jumeuc Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Emerson Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adelino Saldanha was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jumeuc Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Emerson Paraíba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emerson Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 60th minute of play. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emerson Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Secada in the 77th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Emerson Paraíba when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Jumeuc Futebol Clube booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Saldanha came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
