In the 13th minute of the match, Feliciano Sesuldo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonathan Ferrant was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 14th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Tiburones Rojos's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Ferruccio Borrelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Feliciano Sesuldo got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferruccio Borrelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 59th minute. Patricio Costa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ferruccio Borrelli. Ferruccio Borrelli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Lorien in the 92nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 94th minute. Rigoberto Araoz's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Araoz helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 played minutes Tiburones Rojos got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Araoz. Tiburones Rojos's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
