After 12 minutes Bucaneiros's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Agustín Saelices got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bartosz Skikiewicz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Bucaneiros's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 27th minute, Ernest Spoelbergs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Bucaneiros's Ernest Spoelbergs got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mai Hontoria in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Mai Hontoria came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bucaneiros's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laércio Travassos in the 40th minute. Laércio Travassos made a great header on Bucaneiros's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 42nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartosz Skikiewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 played minutes Bucaneiros got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Spoelbergs. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Bartosz Skikiewicz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Agustín Saelices blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bartosz Skikiewicz having to make a save. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bucaneiros's Bartosz Skikiewicz did a great save. After 68 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bartosz Skikiewicz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 70 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Bucaneiros's Bartosz Skikiewicz. Bartosz Skikiewicz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Bucaneiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matteo La Forest didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Bartosz Skikiewicz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Kempes, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Bucaneiros's goalkeeper Bartosz Skikiewicz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 93rd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
