In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Qiu Yao Cheng was slow to take the kick. During this time 重庆1997联队's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Qiu Yao Cheng got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 重庆1997联队's Philippe Fricot quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Salvador Gisbert, made in the 23rd minute of the game. Daan Leers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Daan Leers took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daan Leers in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daan Leers in the 44th minute of the match. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a 重庆1997联队's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 63rd minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pang Bang Xun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daan Leers went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daan Leers in the 82nd minute of play. Pang Bang Xun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after 重庆1997联队's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but 重庆1997联队's Pang Bang Xun did a great save. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daan Leers in the 87th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, 重庆1997联队's goalkeeper Pang Bang Xun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The 重庆1997联队 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
