Daan Leers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when 重庆1997联队 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daan Leers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Daan Leers came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 48 minute. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
