In the 22nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urrutia Chavarria in the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Sotres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador played a much better game than Siete de Octubre and deserved their victory. The Siete de Octubre players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
