The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Miroslav Klose got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Kristopher Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18 minutes of play, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Miroslav Klose made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kristopher Johnson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 21st minute. Joaquim Bomba hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s goalkeeper Kristopher Johnson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. A throw-in in the 26th minute of the game was made by Felix Luque with Lautaro Mancebo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 27thth minute of the game Miroslav Klose who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th match minute, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilídio Abrantes to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the game, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kristopher Johnson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Miroslav Klose stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Miroslav Klose tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Macos Graciani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Fabiano Medeiros hit a great ball. Kristopher Johnson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 54th minute of the match. Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Miroslav Klose scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 1-2. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristopher Johnson having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Miroslav Klose came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miroslav Klose recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kristopher Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Miroslav Klose might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dante Lacasa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miroslav Klose ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 78th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristopher Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Kristopher Johnson. Kristopher Johnson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Miroslav Klose managed to get in a good position for a shot. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Miroslav Klose was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Macos Graciani hit a great ball. Joaquim Bomba lost his temper 88 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 91st minute, Brendan Tran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 94th minute of play forced QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s goalkeeper Kristopher Johnson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
