Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iakovos Ksiros having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Tomas Illescas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Iakovos Ksiros. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iakovos Ksiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Iakovos Ksiros made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. After 28 minutes, Vassilis Bogdanos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kolopetinitsa and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Kolopetinitsa got a freekick which was hit by Vassilis Bogdanos. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iakovos Ksiros having to interfere. Kolopetinitsa's attentive Dionysis Salaggoudis managed to snatch the ball when Alex Chicote made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. The supporters of Kolopetinitsa booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Mariano made in the 43rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tomas Illescas however managed to control. 54 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iakovos Ksiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Kolopetinitsa's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iakovos Ksiros came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iakovos Ksiros came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. But to his dismay, Patricio Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Iakovos Ksiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute, Vassilis Bogdanos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iakovos Ksiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! 70 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Kolopetinitsa's Iakovos Ksiros. Iakovos Ksiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 74 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iakovos Ksiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Iakovos Ksiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes of play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iakovos Ksiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kolopetinitsa's attentive Vassilis Bogdanos managed to snatch the ball when Salvador Gisbert made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Venezuela fully deserved thier win.
