Usain Bolt got in the 11th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Marco Day handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Zalayeta in the 17th minute of play. Marco Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Zalayeta went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Edward Mcdonald came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Mcdonald couldn't finish the play. After 23 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Edward Mcdonald. Agustín Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Marcelo Zalayeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 37 minutes, Agustín Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustín Alvarez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christopher Reimann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 39th minute. In the 43rd minute of the match Edward Mcdonald shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christopher Reimann showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Marcelo Zalayeta notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Christopher Reimann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 71st minute of play forced PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goalkeeper Christopher Reimann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Christopher Reimann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Mcdonald in the 72nd minute of play. Jacob May kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. In the 78th minute, Procopio Mayorga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Sam Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christopher Reimann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Baker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Sam Campbell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christopher Reimann. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Campbell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 93 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Campbell came free, but Christopher Reimann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over USA's much stronger midfield.
