Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Stig-Åke Söderman got the match started through his kick off. Lautaro Puig scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ingmar Håkansson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stig-Åke Söderman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Stig-Åke Söderman slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 7th minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. Stig-Åke Söderman, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Henry Hermansson sent off a good shot on target. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stig-Åke Söderman was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Vätö's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Axel Tasis kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Stig-Åke Söderman fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Åke Söderman, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ingmar Håkansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 61st minute of the match. Henry Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Henry Hermansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Emil Holmberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 76th minute. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Henry Hermansson put it in 5-2 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. It was a well-played corner which Henry Svensson managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 90 minutes of play, Vätö's Stig-Åke Söderman made it 7-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that Vätö were the better team. Vätö's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
