The Metapalo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Dante Rafe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valentin Negroni was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match Metapalo FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jacinto Baumar ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Valentin Negroni managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Negroni in the 57th minute of play. Gavino Belarmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the game, Dante Rafe recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Dante Rafe showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. 70 minutes into the match, Metapalo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Gavino Belarmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Gavino Belarmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87th minute, Arsenio Loramendi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavino Belarmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After some careless play in the Metapalo FC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gavino Belarmo. The Metapalo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gavino Belarmo should have stopped the shot. Gavino Belarmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
