After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Dante Rafe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dante Rafe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Valentin Negroni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 51st match minute, Metapalo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Rafe to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 54th minute of play forced Metapalo FC's goalkeeper Gavino Belarmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Metapalo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Negroni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Metapalo FC's Epifanio Marques quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Camilo Franco, made in the 80th minute of the game. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Negroni in the 84th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dante Rafe.
