Zico Orange could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Tostão Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Zico Orange made the kick off in the second half. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edinho Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Edinho Pirani in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ defense, Luz Tejedor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edinho Pirani. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edinho Pirani should have stopped the shot. In the 65thth minute of the game Zico Orange who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zinédine Orange hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Peru's Eliseo Mina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edinho Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Rafael Gallo scored to the left of an out of position Edinho Pirani, making the score, 0-4. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
