In the 25th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Jienescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denis Oprescu in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in GoalHunters's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Jienescu came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, GoalHunters's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Daniel Jienescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in GoalHunters fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye GoalHunters's goalie prevented a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Gaúcho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes GoalHunters got a freekick which was hit by Mihăiţă Văduva. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octav Stoicescu in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octav Stoicescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Juan Sebastián Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GoalHunters the free kick. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leontin Traianescu in the 80th minute of the match. If Pedro Jerrold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Daniel Jienescu made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. GoalHunters were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
