An unexpectedly hard shot by Zdzislaw Ramzinski in the 15th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Villa struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Korneliusz Smolarek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tanek Borcz in the 21st minute of play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Korneliusz Smolarek, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 35th play minutes Sebastian Villa shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Korneliusz Smolarek and just under the crossbar into goal. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Honduras's Korneliusz Smolarek threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmundo Espiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Slawomir Zworski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Edmundo Espiga made a precise shot to the right of Korneliusz Smolarek. ADEGA POZNAŃ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 55 minutes into the match, Slawomir Zworski dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lautaro Navarro, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zdzislaw Ramzinski in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Zdzislaw Ramzinskis short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Lautaro Navarro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 69th minute, Rafal Marud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ADEGA POZNAŃ's Mino Torres was substituted for Jaroslaw Cetnar. In the 71st match minute, ADEGA POZNAŃ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafal Marud to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 72 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgierd Rozanski in the 75th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Borys Malewicki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ADEGA POZNAŃ the free kick. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a free kick in the 81st minute. Ivan Navarro kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Mino Torres struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ADEGA POZNAŃ. In the 87th minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Korneliusz Smolarek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zdzislaw Ramzinski in the 89th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Korneliusz Smolarek having to interfere. ADEGA POZNAŃ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
