Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murat Sarpkan having to interfere. Murat Sarpkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Murat Sarpkan in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. A hard shot 48 in the game by Felix Montenegro from a close distance when the talented Murat Sarpkan managed to make a qualified save. Trabzonspor's players were relieved.

Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Murat Sarpkan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Trabzonspor's goalkeeper Murat Sarpkan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Trabzonspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-0.
