After 22 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. After 27 played minutes Zbyszko Tusk could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-0 into the left cross. When Zbyszko Tusk came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the FORTALEZA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zbyszko Tusk couldn't finish the play. Stoyo Kamenarski might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stoyo Kamenarski ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, FORTALEZA's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zbyszko Tusk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice moves Stoyo Kamenarski could shoot a difficult shot in the 44th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. If Zbyszko Tusk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Stoyo Kamenarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. In the 64th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute, Stoyo Kamenarski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. If Pascal Nouma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aleksandr Lemesh fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FORTALEZA's protests and gave Aleksandr Lemesh a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FORTALEZA's Aleksandr Lemesh got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 79 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Gisbert. Aleksandr Lemesh kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. With a little luck, FORTALEZA's Xorxe Viguera got control of the ball when Patricio Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. Stoyo Kamenarski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. There was no doubt that FORTALEZA were the better team. FORTALEZA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
