In the 3rd minute, Agustín Saelices got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hardo Kaar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Hardo Kaar came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's Andris Lehtmäe slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 after 38 minutes of play. 42 minutes into the match, Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Dušan Kinder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elmo Lodev. In the 46th match minute, Aidu Metskonna Pöörased was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rein Viilma to maneuver through the defense. Ilmar Kevade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elmo Lodev, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 63rd minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerd Viru in the 64th minute of the match. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Hardo Kaar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elmo Lodev in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The Aidu Metskonna Pöörased fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Aidu Metskonna Pöörased's Hardo Kaar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Aidu Metskonna Pöörased was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urmet Saue didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elmo Lodev in the 94th minute of the match. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Aidu Metskonna Pöörased had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
